Take a Walk on the Wild Side

When my Fashionista client bought her flat, she wanted it to be a reflection of her haute couture style and love of animal prints. The long hallway joining the suite of rooms is 42 feet long before it even turns the corner. This was an incredible opportunity to make the journey to the bedrooms most memorable. We took an animal print pattern, a cross between cheetah and leopard, as the base. We then introduced graduated color in the hues of the rainbow. Each color was thought out based on its location.

The gold near the entryway referenced the leopard stair runner nearby, the pink at the dining room doors hints at the magenta of the dining room curtains, the green in front of the kitchen for food and the blue at the end for the soft tone of the bedrooms. This is one of my favorite rugs I have designed and Mark Nelson was able to fabricate our vision into reality.
